Who We Are
The Institute for Antiracism in Medicine (IAM) is a civil rights organization dedication to the abolition of racism in the field of Medicine.
IAM was founded in Chicago by 3 Black women physicians in the wake of the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic and the lynching of Mr. George Floyd. As the pandemic wore on, hundreds of years of racist policy culminated in a COVID-19 death gap of 2-3x between white Americans and Black, Latino and Indigenous communities motivating these physicians to form IAM in resistance to the status quo of racism in Medicine.
